I've read all writeups I could find, thank you for your work. I'm slowly progressing on my 525i TU=>MS conversion. Yesterday I took apart a spare ECU to get to the backside of the contact piece for soldering up the MS.
How do you keep e. g. the original RPM meter working? I do not remember reading about that aspect. I'd like to keep the install as invisible as possible. (I'm not going turbo but I just might go to S32-like interior in the coming engine rebuild. Pistons and rods I have, am looking for a crankshaft). However, before I seriously consider doing this I want the basic setup to work for the original engine.
My main motivation is not power but the fun of determining the behavior of the engine, and playing with the physics in the background. I have worked in engine development for many years, but moved to complete vehicle development two years ago. Now I really miss the engine side of the job. MS comes in handy - it seems.
